Distance Learning Classes

Requirements
The following are the requirements for all distance learning (online) class:
1)
You must have a computer with a
reliable internet connection and will be responsible for having your own E-mail account.
You also need to have Windows XP or
Vista, and Microsoft Word 2003 or later. We recommend you purchase a lap top computer from the school.
The cost of the lap top is $900.00 which includes the laptop computer, with Microsoft Office Student/ Teacher Edition 2007 and Microsoft XP or Vista Home Edition, a carrying case, mouse and ear phones.
The laptops have a one-year manufacturer’s guarantee, but they are not warranteed for breakage, theft, or loss.
2)
Your classes will be taught online through narrated PowerPoint presentations, video clips, and handout materials. You will access the lectures and materials by logging onto the Website.
You can view the lectures online as many times as you like for one week from home or you can come to the main campus.
You must also participate in an online discussion forum, and must be available to take your quizzes online on your scheduled class day at
1:00pm unless otherwise directed by your instructor or classroom manager.
You will be responsible for completing all assignments on time regardless of any computer problems you may encounter.

Laboratory Schedule
: One- 8 hour mandatory mid-term exam/ laboratory session per semester must be attended at the main campus location. The exact date will be in announced on the first day of class and in your syllabus

Will most likely be scheduled on a Wed from 12:00-8:00pm

|
Final Exam Schedule
: One- 4 hour mandatory final exam session per semester must be attended at the main campus location on the last day of the semester.

the last Wednesday of each semester

Mandatory Externship Requirement
:
2nd and 3rd Semester Only:
You must complete a total of 94 hours of externship during each of the 2nd and 3rd semester for a total of 188 hours.

To be complete on the job or at a school- arranged offsite externship.
|
