How To Obtain An Application

An application can be obtained by calling the admissions office at (949) 597-0533 Monday- Friday from 8:30 am to 3:00 p.m. You must apply to the business office at the main campus regardless of your classroom location. If you are unable to call during these hours, you may leave a voice mail message with your name, address and phone number and state which program you are interested in.  An information package will then be mailed to you. You can e-mail your request to info@vetassistant.com.
 
An application deadline date is listed with the schedule for each class. All required materials must be received and testing completed by this date. If a class is full, your name will be placed on the list for the next available class. You must make an appointment to submit your application with the admissions office.

Application Requirements By Program
Veterinary Attendant Program:
Prerequisite: All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants not residing in Orange County may have to travel to an animal hospital in Orange County in order to complete their externship. You should have reliable transportation to and from the externship site.
All applicants must make an appointment to submit their application.  Complete application requirements are:
1) Submit a completed application
2) Include a legible copy of your driver's license and social security card.
3) If you are not a US citizen, you must submit documentation of legal residency.
4) Submit a copy of your high school transcript or GED results.

Veterinary Assistant Program:
Prerequisite: This program is only open to individuals who are currently employed in an animal hospital. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have graduated from High School or passed the GED exam or equivalent.
All applicants must make an appointment to submit all the necessary paperwork no later than the application deadline date in order to be considered for acceptance into the program.  Application requirements are:
1) Submit a completed application.
2) Submit a copy of your high school transcript or GED results.
3) Submit an original legible copy of your driver's license and social security card.
4) If you are not a US citizen, you must submit documentation of legal residency.
5) Submit an PVAS Employment Verification Form
6) You must make an appointment with the admission office to submit your
   application.  Once the complete application has been received, an appointment will 
   be scheduled to take the PVAS placement test and an entrance exam.

Alternate Route Veterinary Technician Candidate Program:
Prerequisite: A qualified candidate must be a graduate from the Veterinary Assistant Program, in good standing with at least 32 months under the direction of a California-licensed veterinarian.
The two classes will take one semester (four months), 6 hours weekly for a total of 96 hours, and are needed in conjunction with the Veterinary Assistant Program to complete the educational requirement to take the California RVT licensure exam under the Alternate Route Category
All Returning Veterinary Assistant Program Graduates Applicants must:
1) Submit a completed application.
2) Re-enroll and pay the appropriate fees
3) Submit a PVAS Verification Form documenting at least 32 months of experience
   with a California veterinarian. You must have at least 80% of your RVT task list 
   completed to qualify for this program.
